Facial Rejuvenation with the Acutron
By Susan Mitchell, Acupuncture Physician
Facial rejuvenation is one of the most popular and in-demand services
currently offered by Acupuncture Physicians around the world. Due to
the expense, exposure to drugs and chemicals, bleeding, bruising, and
nerve damage of regular surgical facelifts, facial rejuvenation treatments
are quickly becoming an effective and viable alternative.
Through the use of microcurrent electricity, the entire face and neck
are treated using acupuncture points and muscle origins and insertions.
The result is increased collagen and elastin production, improved cellular
metabolism, and a more youthful and radiant appearance. Many patients
also report a considerable reduction in stress and tension levels.
My initial interest in microcurrent facials was stimulated by treating
several patients with Bell’s palsy using the Acutron Mentor with
good results. I noticed the muscle toning effect the treatment had on
those patients, and began to think that this effect could be of value
for other clients. I made an extensive study of electrical and herbal
facial treatments, including learning from an expert in the field named
Dr. Song, and began offering the service to some of my patients. The
feedback was so good that the demand has grown extensively, and now
half of my busy practice is devoted to facial rejuvenation treatments.
Many of my patients receive both facial and acupuncture/herbal treatment
for specific health conditions. I must report that facial rejuvenation
treatments are very profitable, and they allowed me to pay for the entire
cost of my Acutron unit within two months of purchasing it.
Although microcurrent facials are primarily requested for cosmetic
purposes, there are also many clear health benefits, including relief
of headaches, sinusitis, facial pain and palsy, tonification of the
sense organs and greatly improved skin and muscle tone.
By adding facial rejuvenation treatments to any acupuncture practice,
the result is inevitably positive – A greater scope of treatment,
new patient referrals, and of course, increased revenue.
